As a Salesforce Solutions Manager at Generac, you will be instrumental in optimizing our sales processes and tools to enhance productivity and efficiency within the sales teams supporting Consumer Power. Your primary focus will be on managing and improving our sales tools, with a particular emphasis on rollout and implementation of Salesforce CRM, to ensure our sales team can operate at peak performance. You will work closely with sales leadership and IT to understand their needs, analyze sales data, and implement strategies that drive sales effectiveness and achieve company goals.


The position is responsible for owning, implementing, and continuously improving our Salesforce instance, while staying within guidelines of corporate Salesforce.com Center of Excellence. The successful individual will collaborate with key stakeholders across Sales, IT, Channel Management, Marketing, and Analytics teams to ensure sales goals and objectives are being met, providing value, and maximizing efficiency and effectiveness of sales teams. They will identify gaps in processes and provide recommendations based on data and analysis to improve ongoing processes. They will stay in tune with the Salesforce functions to recommend implementing different features based on business challenges the team encounters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 


Salesforce Implementation Leadership (40%):
  • Oversee the implementation, optimization and overall program management of Salesforce CRM and other sales tools to support sales strategies and improve sales productivity.
  • Collaborate with other departments and teams across Generac to leverage Salesforce best practices and build consistency across instances wherever possible.
  • Stay connected and regularly engage within Salesforce community to understand features, enhancements and updates to the platform that would specifically benefit Generac’s sales teams.
  • Develop and implement training programs for the sales team on Salesforce and other sales tools to ensure maximum utilization and efficiency.
  • Lead cross-functional projects to streamline and automate sales operations and contribute to the overall sales strategy leveraging Salesforce as main ‘homebase’ for sales.

Salesforce Performance Analytics (30%):
  • Partner with sales leaders to build consistent reports, dashboards, leaderboards, and forecasting to help inform and drive business decisions.
  • Track key KPIs, create user surveys, and collect feedback to ensure consistent and effective user adoption; provide insights to internal stakeholders.
  • Build dashboards and reports to support critical sales processes and KPIs.
  • Ensure a deep understanding of data flow and system integration with other sales platforms within the business to ensure a seamless flow of information across systems.
  • Partner with Analytics teams to ensure reporting and dashboarding rules of engagement are clear across different reporting platforms.

Cross Functional Partnership (10%):
  • Collaborate with Sales teams, regularly shadowing to understand critical selling processes and tools to ensure continuous improvement in platform.
  • Build relationships across user groups at Generac to understand key similarities in selling processes to drive standardization across Salesforce instances/user profiles.
  • Collaborate with partner teams across Finance, Analytics, Contracts, and Sales to identify key processes that live outside of Salesforce with opportunity to connect and optimize sales processes (examples include: Territory, Compensation, Forecasting, etc).

Operational Excellence (10%): 
  • Leverage data analytics to identify program performance and analyze elements for change and margin improvement.
  • In conjunction with Analytics, Finance and Product Management teams, measures and reports on market performance and portfolio performance, and identify new opportunities to grow the business.

Minimal Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience in Sales Operations, IT, Marketing or other related field
  • Proven experience managing and optimizing Salesforce CRM, including building dashboards, reports, and workflows

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Salesforce Administrator certification
  • Experience with other sales tools and technologies, such as SAP ERP, SAP CRM, Showpad, Marketing automation platforms, PowerBI, and other data visualization platforms.
  • Experience in leading projects and initiatives.
  • Previous experience working for a manufacturing company.

  • Deep understanding of Salesforce CRM, including configuration, customization, and reporting capabilities
  • Excellent project management skills, with a proven ability to lead projects to completion on time and within budget.

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to identify opportunities and the ability to communicate findings cross-functionally to drive action planning and execution.

  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills with the ability to create and maintain complex excel models.
  • Able to influence others without direct authority and work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Self-starter with initiative and vision.
  • Proven leadership skills to manage and lead teams effectively and motivate them to achieve their goals.

Physical demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Infrequent travel.
