Neurio, a subsidiary of Generac Power Systems, is looking for a talented Product Designer to play a key strategic role in helping us build an environmentally sustainable future and a reliable electric grid.

Our products combine renewable sources and energy storage to help homeowners make the most out of their solar panels, reduce their energy consumption, and power their home when the electricity grid fails. We also work with utilities and solar installers to monitor and control large fleets of solar systems to make solar energy more accessible to the average homeowner.

As a Product Designer you will be focused on Visual Design, Interaction Design, UX. You will work closely with our customers to understand their business needs, and translate those into solutions, using visual workflows and interactions to help the development teams make your creations reality. In particular, you will:  

  • Be the principal design leader throughout the development of the product, driving clarity, resolving priority conflicts for the development team, promoting best design practices, and looking out for the right balance between design and feasibility.
  • Understand our users’ goals and pain points, and distill challenging, ambiguous problems into clear solutions for the product team.
  • Be an integral part of our product development teams.
  • Collaborate closely with Developers, Customer Support and Product Management to evaluate value and feasibility of your solutions.
  • Coordinate with other design team members to ensure a consistent design language across our product ecosystem and drive high design standards.
  • Work closely with UI developers to define designs systems that streamline development.
  • Produce wireframes, mock-ups, style guides and Interaction Design instructions, and conduct hand-off sessions with the development team.
  • Present and communicate designs with clarity to cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and customers, capture feedback and refine designs through rapid iteration.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Successful candidates should have:
  • 3+ years full time working as a UI/UX Designer or Product Designer, ideally within Scrum teams
  • Experience designing for a mobile form-factor
  • Experience in all phases of the design process including user research, copywriting, wireframing, prototyping, visual design, interaction design, and usability testing
  • A minimum of 1 successful mobile or web application launches
  • A well-rounded portfolio, demonstrating a strong understanding of customer problems, and showcasing a solid design decision process

Preferred Qualifications:

  • We will give strong preference to candidates with one or more of the following:

  • Experience building and/or maintaining design systems
  • Basic understanding of and/or experience with front-end development (HTML/CSS, JavaScript, React and/or Angular)
  • Experience with logic diagramming and distilling complex business logic into solutions

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Excellent UI design and Interaction Design skills: responsive, mobile, cross platform and cross devices
  • Working knowledge of solar energy, energy storage, and renewable energy concepts
  • Good copywriting skills
  • Ability to collect and interpret both qualitative and quantitative feedback
