Pika Energy, a subsidiary of Generac Power Systems, seeks a flexible New Product Introduction (NPI) Specialist to support Operations Engineering functions of new product introduction, engineering change management, supply chain management, and supplier quality. The successful candidate will have experience with design implementation through engaging contract manufacturing, custom part suppliers, and design and quality engineering resources. The NPI Specialist is responsible for project management (RFQ, Tooling, PPAP, and Transfer) and execution.
This position in based in Westbrook, Maine.

  • Provide flexible, responsive engineering support for a fast-changing global supply chain
  • Evaluate supplier engineering change requests
  • Support new product introductions and tech transfer projects to new suppliers
  • Create engineering change notifications
  • Review engineering change notifications for accuracy and completeness
  • Request quotes and issue purchase orders to support specific projects
  • Design packaging materials and artwork to support global supply chain
  • Implement validation plans for new sources and alternate parts
  • Manage NPI related ECO’s and sustaining ECO’s that affect new part changes
  • Manage tactical purchasing activities such as expediting material
  • Manage suppliers On Time Delivery (OTD) performance during prototype / development phases
  • Manage the PPAP orders for new parts of sustaining or end of life new parts from the order inception, quality inspection review and engineering sign-off

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or related field or equivalent experience
  • 2 years of experience in Supply Chain or related field

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proven experience with engineering change processes
  • Experience working directly with suppliers on schedule, design for manufacturing, and quality
  • Experience with new product introductions and technical/process transfer to new suppliers
  • Experience with prototype part approval process (PPAP)
  • Previous experience working in the development cycle of new products
  • Familiarity with PCBA design manufacturing and design documentation
  • Experience evaluating corrective and preventative actions to address quality issues
  • Experience with Adobe Illustrator and graphic design
  • Experience supporting NRTL certification testing (e.g. UL, Intertek, TUV, etc.)
  • Experience with Arena PLM

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Able to perform and apply tolerance stack up analysis to part designs
  • Ability to follow standard company process while operating autonomously
  • Advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Proven track record of managing shifting deadlines and priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills; comfortable speaking about complex issues over the phone, email, and in person

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.  The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.  The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Up to 10% travel and valid Driver’s License required.
