Pika Energy, a subsidiary of Generac Power Systems, is seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and enthusiastic Product Manager to drive collaboration and communication across our cross functional team. The Product Manager works with company leadership, customers, sales, marketing, and engineering teams to ensure that business, quality and functional goals are met. We are looking for a seasoned Agile veteran that knows how to plan and design business processes and champion improvements that help us reach product goals more efficiently.

You’ll be responsible for shaping the product backlog through stakeholder engagement and oversee the execution of the backlog. This includes requirements gathering and documentation, cultivating user stories, release management and readiness, measuring the effects of these activities, and using metrics to provide feedback into the process. 

This position is based out of Westbrook, Maine.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories.
  • Collaborate with company leadership, product marketing, support and sales to translate business requirements into user stories for the engineering teams to implement.
  • Work with company leadership and technical leads to determine scope and priorities for product development cycles.
  • Evaluate and validate with development teams the effort estimates for user stories and features.
  • Work with key stakeholders across the company to ensure successful product releases.
  • Work hand-in-hand with Support and QA teams to collect and classify defects, prioritize appropriately and ensure expected functionality is fully understood.
  • Translate business process or concepts into technical requirements (and vice versa).
  • Collaborate on the creation of product release plans and set expectation for delivery of new functionalities.
  • Work with the team to ensure strategic product road maps are successfully executed.
  • Implement key metrics for product features and analyze metrics to verify objectives are progressing as planned.
  • Support the scrum team by exemplifying a culture of continuous process improvement.
  • Participate in and foster a working environment where creativity, innovation, ownership and teamwork are encouraged and rewarded.
  • Bridge the gap between our technical needs and the requirements of our users including providing detailed product requirements for implementation of changes to our systems.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of experience as a product owner in an Agile software development environment

  • Prior home energy, energy storage, power electronic, solar system, or renewable energy domain experience

  • Expertise communicating progress at each phase of development as appropriate, including published road maps, requirements and other information.
  • High degree of both technical expertise and business acumen.
  • Strong results-orientation combined with excellent judgment and problem-solving skills; track record of product success.
  • Outstanding communication skills internally and externally, across teams and functions.
  • Attention to detail, strong organization and planning skills.
  • Technical literacy related to embedded software development and delivery.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.  The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.  The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
